Cissy Makumbi

Chief Editor


Cissy is a media expert with over 10 years of experience working with Daily Monitor as northern regional Bureau Chief, Nation Media Group (NMG). She has previously carried out media investigations in Pader and Agago districts, particularly on the Youth Livelihood and Northern Uganda Action Fund (NUSAF), programs aimed at improving the lives of the communities that were ravaged by the two decades of insurgency in the north

Caroline Akello

Finance and Administration


Carol leads our Finance and Administrative work, .She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from Gulu University and currently pursuing an accounting certificate with the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda. She has previously worked with world vision and Engage All Africa as a Project officer.

Stella Ederu

Field reporting Coordinator- Northern


Stella Coordinates field teams and leads our business in the northern region. She has a national Diploma in Journalism from the Northern Institute of Business Studies. She is passionate about journalism and enjoys supporting Community outdoor events.

Lydia Namono

Policy and advocacy coordinator


Lydia is a communication specialist working with the Daily Monitor an supports our policy and advocacy work. She is passionate about writing, editing, communication, building and mentoring teams that produce results.

Nobert Oola

Co-founder & Business development manager


Nobert is one of the Co-founders and leads the business development services. He is a seasoned Business coach with over 8 years of experience working with small businesses in the private sector and stakeholders in Uganda’s public sector. As a Senior Business Advisor at Water and Sanitation Entrepreneurs Association of Uganda (WASEU), Nobert has taken on central roles in coordinating Business development services for Water and Sanitation business entrepreneurs in the different program Catchment areas in Uganda.

Jane Justine Mirembe

Media and communications


Jane brings a wealth of experience to our communications department. She has previously served as Public Relations and Documentation Officer at the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda, and Online Sub Editor at The Daily Monitor Newspaper. Most recently she has taken on WASH advocacy assignments while working with Sanitation solutions group-A market-based sanitation enterprise in Uganda.

Jacklyn Namuloni

Research and community liaison


Ms Namuloni is an expert in Human rights Protection, planning, monitoring and evaluation, research, and community mobilization, she has previously worked with the Family concepts center and holds a bachelor’s degree in Social work and social administration from Busoga University.

Akol Sharon

ICT Data analyst


Sharon leads all our tech operations and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Makerere University. She has previously worked with Media Uganda as Content Manager She enjoys supporting women in tech and inspiring the younger generation of coders. She is also an alumnus of the Outbox EDU program.

Roselyn Nakazibwe

Human Resource Manager


Roselyn holds a BA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Makerere University. She is deeply passionate about educational equity, teaching young people about “do no harm development’ ’She has previously worked with Brac Uganda in Western Uganda. She coordinates our Human resource team.
